It's Midnight
Proud Mary
He may just be 16 years old, but Will Reynolds brings a lot maturity and a good bit of uncanny talent to the stage at TCB Theatre, where he shares the music of Elvis Presley each night in the theater’s brand-new show, called “Good Rockin’ Tonight.” From a big voice that sounds remarkably like The King of Rock and Roll to the sideburns and body movements to the comprehensive wardrobe, Will is proof that you can never be too young to take Elvis’s music to heart and share it with others.

The Rockcastle, Kentucky, native first became interested in Presley’s music when he saw several other Elvis tribute artists performing in front of a live audience a few years ago. Not long after, he was bitten by the tribute bug himself and went about honing his skills, spending as many as eight hours a day singing, playing the piano and guitar and watching Elvis video clips.
Today, he knows virtually all of Elvis’s hits, not to mention many of the less well-known songs. He says he doesn’t have one favorite tune, because there are just too many good ones to narrow down. However, his favorite period of Elvis’s career is the jumpsuit era of the 1970s, when The King began performing more ballads that showed off the depth and range of his voice.

In “Good Rockin’ Tonight,” Will takes on all the phases of Presley’s career, from the Sun Records days all the way through to Vegas. And he’s got an impressive array of costumes to help him in his accurate portrayal of each time period, from the gold lamé jacket reminiscent of the RCA years to the two-piece leather suit like the one Elvis wore in his 1968 Comeback Special to several costumes identical to the ones worn in Elvis’s movies.
Even though he’s only been performing as Elvis for the past few years, Will has already managed to gain a lot of attention for his efforts, participating in numerous talent and Elvis-themed competitions. Just last year, he won a preliminary round in the Images of the King competition, winning cash and recording session before moving on to the final round in Memphis. Only his age kept the Teen King, as he is known, from being eligible to win outright.
He’s also had the opportunity to develop his chops on the professional stage, performing at music theaters, festivals and benefits nationwide, including Legends in Concert in Myrtle Beach and Memories Theatre and the Smith Family Theater in Pigeon Forge, to name a few. He has also recorded four CDs and a DVD, with another to go on sale in the near future.
As for the future, Will hopes to help more and more audiences discover TCB Theatre and the music of Elvis Presley. He hopes to attend college near Pigeon Forge so he can simultaneously pursue his education and a music career. In his spare time, he enjoys sports like golf and basketball and spending time with friends.
